Trying times. Affliction. Heartache. Loss. Sooner or later we all find ourselves walking through trials that test us as we try to make sense of what is happening. Fear. Confusion. Despair. Exhaustion. How do we keep going? Where do we turn for help? There is only one that truly understands and has the power to help- the One who made us- God our creator. He has given us His creation and His word, the Bible, to tell us about who He is, who we are, and how we are to live- even when life is upside down and doesn’t make sense.
This site was born out of a desire to share the encouragement that God has given me during my cancer journey with others who are facing their own giants. You will find a collection of scriptures and quotes that provide a biblical sketch of how to think rightly about the challenges you are facing now or will be in the future. I call it a sketch because they just scratch the surface of the wisdom and peace the Bible has for us when we dig deeply into God’s Word. There is a Resources section which has links to a few books, sermons, and blog posts that my wife, Debbie, and I have found to be encouraging during trying times. I continue to update this site so keep an eye on the "New Articles" page to find a curated list of recently posted articles and blog posts.
You will also see photographs that I have captured of God’s creation- His beauty reflected in what He has made which points us back to Him. Beauty elevates the soul and never more so than when we let our wonder at the world around us turn to worship of the source of all beauty, Jesus Christ. If you are interested in seeing more images of God's creation, please visit BryanJolley.com.
I hope you will be encouraged, your trust and faith in God’s providential love strengthened, your hope renewed, and that God will be glorified as you press on toward the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus! And if you are here and want to know more about Jesus and what it means to follow Him, I invite you to learn more in the Good News section of this site.
Stay strong! Don't lose heart! God is with you... and for you!
Soli Deo Gloria!
